'NDUJA-FRIED BRUSSELS SPROUTS
30–35 MINUTES
Oven-roasted Brussels sprouts with 'nduja is a super simple and flavourful recipe that's perfect as a side dish or a lighter meal. The sweet, soft Brussels sprouts are balanced by the spicy heat from Nonna Elide's 'Nduja Di Spilinga, which turns wonderfully crispy in the oven. Want to vary the dish? Add some chopped parsley or roast together with almonds for extra texture. Also try squeezing over a little lemon juice – it's really good!
ingredients
- 500 g Brussels sprouts
- approx. 40 g Nonna Elide 'Nduja Di Spilinga
- olive oil
- 1 msk honey
- salt
Here's how
- Trim the base and clean the Brussels sprouts. Bring a pan of generously salted water to the boil and blanch the sprouts for 2 minutes. Then quickly rinse in a cold water bath to stop the cooking.
- In a bowl, mix together the 'nduja, 1 msk olive oil and honey until evenly combined.
- In a frying pan: Heat a little olive oil in a frying pan and fry the sprouts until they get some colour, about 5 minutes. Then add the 'nduja mixture and fry together for another 5 minutes. It's nice if the 'nduja gets a little crispy.
- In the oven/air fryer: Preheat the oven or air fryer to 190 °C. Mix the sprouts with the 'nduja mixture and place on a baking tray. Roast for about 10-15 minutes, stirring/turning the sprouts halfway through so everything is evenly coated in the 'nduja. Continue roasting until the sprouts are golden and the 'nduja is crispy.
